Gallium, a liquid metal, is known for its biocompatibility and excellent physicochemical properties. Benefiting from advances in nanotechnology, Gallium-based nanomaterials (GNMs) have emerged as a significant advancement in biomedicine, leveraging gallium's unique physicochemical properties and iron-mimetic biological behavior. Through bibliometric analysis, we identified emerging trends and key areas, providing a detailed evaluation of existing research. This article reviews the current status and potential of GNMs in applications such as radio-imaging, anticancer, antibiosis, and biosensing. Our analysis outlines the development trajectory of GNMs and emphasizes opportunities to expand their functionality across a broader range of biomedical applications and clinical translation.
